INFORMATION FOR
Composer and multi-instrumentalist Victor Lemonte Wooten will perform on Thursday, October 14 alongside drummer and percussionist J.D. Blair as part of their “Two Minds, One Groove” tour in a concert at William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. in Shea Center for Performing Arts.
Wooten is the sensational bassist from the Grammy award-winning super group, Béla Fleck and The Flecktones. Building on his success with Fleck’s ensemble and his huge following, Wooten has continued to establish himself as a virtuoso solo artist, as well as through his performances with Branford Marsalis, Chick Corea, Bruce Hornsby, and David Matthews. In this performance, he joins forces with drummer J.D. Blair for a powerful bass/drum duo.
The event is part of William Paterson’s WPLive Vistas Series designed to serve the University’s students and faculty, as well as the surrounding multicultural community, and the Jazz Room Series, one of the largest and most prestigious college-sponsored jazz events in the country. Funding for the Vistas Series and Jazz Room Series at William Paterson University has been made possible, in part, by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State.
Tickets to the show are $40 for gold circle, $30 for orchestra, and $20 for loge. For ticket information, call the Shea Center Box Office at 973-720-2371 or order online at www.wplive.org.
