INFORMATION FOR
Imani Winds, a Grammy-nominated ensemble, will perform a wide range of chamber music composed for flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn on Thursday, March 24 at 8 p.m. at Shea Center for Performing Arts at William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J.
More than North America's premier wind quintet, Imani Winds has established itself as one of the most successful chamber music ensembles in the United States. Since 1997, the Grammy nominated quintet has taken a unique path, carving out a distinct presence in the classical music world with its dynamic playing, culturally poignant programming, genre-blurring collaborations, and inspirational outreach programs. With two member composers and a deep commitment to commissioning new work, the group is enriching the traditional wind quintet repertoire while meaningfully bridging European, American, African and Latin American traditions.
The event is part of William Paterson’s Shea Center Presents Vistas Series, designed to serve the University’s students and faculty as well as the surrounding multicultural community and co-sponsored by the Cross-Cultural Arts Festival and the Music Department. Funding for the Vistas Series at William Paterson University has been made possible, in part, by the New Jersey Council for the Arts/Department of State.
Tickets to the show are $15 standard; $12 for William Paterson University alumni, faculty and staff, and seniors; $8 for non-William Paterson students and children; and free admission for William Paterson students.
