University is a Sponsor of the Wayne Tunnel to Towers 5K Walk/Run Commemorating 10th Anniversary of September 11

William Paterson University, working with the Township of Wayne, is proud to be a sponsor of the Wayne “Tunnel to Towers” 5K walk/run on Sunday, September 11 commemorating the 10th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

The Wayne, N.J. run/walk will be approximately 3 miles and will begin at 8 a.m. at Wayne Valley High School. Immediately following the run there will be a memorial held at the Township’s 9/11 monument located by the Library on the grounds of the Municipal Complex. All are welcome to participate.

The event was inspired by the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run held annually in New York City in honor of the brave sacrifices of both firefighter Stephen Siller who ran three miles to the North Tower on 9/11/2001 to save lives other than his own, and the 342 firefighters who died with him that day.
