Singer-Songwriter Raul Malo to Present Holiday Concert at William Paterson University on December 10

Singer, songwriter and guitarist Raul Malo, best known as founder and lead singer of the Grammy Award-winning country band The Mavericks, will present a holiday-themed concert at William Paterson University in Wayne on Saturday, December 10.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m. in the Shea Center for Performing Arts on campus. Tickets are available in advance or on the day of the performance at $30 for Gold Circle, $25 for orchestra and front loge, and $20 for rear loge. Discounts are available for William Paterson faculty, staff, students and seniors.

Malo’s music crosses cultures and blurs boundaries as he fuses his lifelong connection with Latin music with his wide-ranging love of country, blues, jazz and vintage rock and roll. As the frontman for The Mavericks from 1989 to 2003, he recorded six albums, in addition to charting 14 singles on the Billboard country charts. Since 2003, he has pursued a solo career; his most recent album, “Sinners and Saints,” received critical acclaim. The concert will include hits from The Mavericks catalogue and great song covers, as well as Cuban standards in this one-of-a-kind show.

This event is part of William Paterson’s Vistas Series which is made possible in part by a grant from the New Jersey State Council of the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
