Using Technology to Educate is Topic of William Paterson University Conference

A hands-on and collaborative conference which introduces new technologies appropriate for K-12 teachers and learners will be held on Friday, December 9 at William Paterson University in Wayne, N. J.

“Effectively Incorporating Technology Into Subject Matter” is the University’s second annual educational technology conference. The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the University’s building at 1600 Valley Road. The conference fee is $65 and includes materials, five professional development contact hours, and a certificate.

Christopher Shamburg, a professor at New Jersey City University, will deliver the keynote address, “Digital Technologies: Human Potential Unbound,” which looks at trends in society, technology and education that correlate a vision of technology as a liberator of human potential.

The conference also features numerous other presentations including integrating technology into the K-5 mathematics curriculum, empowering struggling readers and writers with technology, and using technology to bring the world to the K-12 students.
