William Paterson University's Center for Chinese Art Celebrates Chinese New Year on February 23

William Paterson University’s Center for Chinese Art will celebrate the Chinese New Year with an elaborate evening of Chinese art, performance and cuisine on February 23 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Power Art Center on campus.

The day’s events will begin at 2 p.m. with a Chinese painting reproduction exhibition direct from the Beijing Palace Museum collection. Arnold Chang, previous director of the Chinese Art Department at Sotheby’s, New York, will present a lecture on the appreciation and appraisal of Chinese paintings from 2:30-4 p.m. The celebration will also include a Chinese art book fair, courtesy of the Science Press of New Jersey at 5 p.m. featuring the Sino-American Musician Association of New York in a performance of Chinese and English classical and folk music, as well as an authentic Chinese food banquet.
