Students applying for the summer, fall, or spring semester can find the application on the graduate admissions page or by clicking here. All applicants to the MBA program are required to submit official transcripts; these can be provided in person in a sealed envelope or mailed directly to the Office of Graduate Admissions from your prior institution. If you are a graduate of William Paterson, you are not required to provide an official transcript.
Once you have provided your transcripts, résumé, and completed the online application, a comprehensive review will take place and you can expect a response in a timely manner.
MBA Application Requirements
This excludes applicants who attained their degree in one of the approved countries, click here to see listing. (Please submit these requirements to the Office of Graduate Admissions)
The Cotsakos College of Business waives students out of Foundations courses if they have demonstrated sufficient achievement in those subject areas in respective undergraduate courses. It is not necessary for an applicant to have an undergraduate degree in business to get Foundations courses waived, nor is it sufficient.
Upon application to the program, you will receive a comprehensive review of your prior study in relevant business courses which may apply towards your MBA degree. Up to six Foundations courses (nine credits total) can be waived, which then would require only 10 classes (30 credits) to complete your MBA degree.
While the exact undergraduate courses may vary somewhat dependent on an applicant’s undergraduate institution’s offerings, the following listing provides general guidance on how undergraduate coursework is aligned with the MBA Foundations courses and grades applicants must have achieved to get Foundations courses waived:
For ACCT 6065: Grade of B or better in Financial Accounting
For ECON 6095: Average grade of B or better in Macroeconomic Principles and Microeconomic Principles
For FIN 6075: Grade of B or better in Corporate Finance
For MBA 6050: Grade of B or better in Elementary Statistics (or average grade of B or better in Business Statistics I and Business Statistics II)
For MGT 6045: Grade of B or better in Principles of Management
For MKT 6085: Grade of B or better in Principles of Marketing

If you are currently attending another MBA or graduate-level program you may apply to transfer to the William Paterson MBA program. Upon admission to the program, a review of your prior academic record will commence. A total of up to 6 credits or two graduate level courses can be carried to our program. If you attained a waiver of up to 18 credits, you can also recover credit for two transfer courses for a total of 24 credits. This will require you to complete only 24 credits or eight MBA courses to graduate.
