This hands-on workshop guides artists through the essential steps to present their work professionally for submissions, juries, and in any exhibition setting. From framing and installation of 2D works, to showcasing 3D and digital art, we will cover best practices for ensuring each piece is displayed to its fullest potential. Participants will learn practical skills in lighting, mounting, and digital presentation, empowering them to exhibit with confidence, whether in galleries, museums, or online spaces.

Artists Building Bridges: Communicating with Curators, Galleries, and the Press

Discover the keys to successful communication and relationship-building in the art world. This workshop explores how to present yourself and your work to curators, galleries, museums, and the press. Topics include writing effective artist statements, crafting exhibition proposals, writing press releases, and engaging with art critics and journalists. Through discussing real-world scenarios, participants will gain confidence and practical insights for navigating the professional art landscape. Panelists will include Casey Mathern, director of the William Paterson University Galleries, Michael Rees, professor and director of the Center for New Art, and a third arts professional TBD.
