Bachelor of Social Work

The William Paterson University Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) program prepares students for essential careers as case workers, child welfare specialists, counselors, and more. Graduates qualify for advanced standing in Master of Social Work (MSW) programs, enabling them to complete their graduate degree in just one year.
The curriculum consists of 14 sequential courses, culminating in a comprehensive 400-hour internship during the senior year. Guided by the national standards of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), our program maintains rigorous academic and professional excellence; you may view our assessment outcomes here to see how our students perform.
