EOF 50th Anniversary

On March 21, the University was proud to host a panel discussion in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF), created in 1968 in New Jersey to provide students from educationally and economically disadvantaged backgrounds with the financial, academic, and personal support they need to achieve a college degree and move on to successful careers. Governor Phil Murphy led the panel discussion, which included former Governor Tom Kean, who co-authored the legislation that created the program; New Jersey Secretary of Higher Education Zakiya Smith Ellis; New Jersey State Senator Nellie Pou; New Jersey Assemblyman Benjie Wimberly; Carmen Ortiz, Executive Director of EOF and Academic Achievement.
