INFORMATION FOR
The Master of Public Policy (MPP) at William Paterson University is centered on educating students to become critical and creative policy thinkers. Our program is centered on training students to think critically about public policy and to provide them with the required tools for understanding and creating public policy. Our program emphasizes courses in applied policy areas from environmental policy to immigration, social inequality, public management, urban policy, labor policy, and much more. Our faculty is highly distinguished in their respective fields and our courses are designed to train students to be able to understand the complex relations between the economic, political and social dimensions of public policy. The program’s interdisciplinary curriculum provides the training you need to become an effective innovator and problem solver by integrating the practical and theoretical, and the domestic and international dimensions of policy making and management.
Students from our program have gone on to work in public policy, government, policy research, academia, journalism, law, non-profit management, NGOs, and many other fields. Our curriculum is designed to train you regardless of your educational background, so no previous training in public policy or social science is required. We also have designed our courses so that they can be taken in the evening for those with full-time jobs.
