The Graduate Program in Public Policy & Interna-tional Affairs at William Paterson University is proud to present a lecture by Stan Karp, Director of the Secondary Reform Project for New Jersey's Education Law Center.

The project is one of the nation’s leading advocacy groups supporting the right of public school children to an equal and adequate education. Mr. Karp is also a longtime teacher, education activist, and an editor of Rethinking Schools magazine. 

This lecture is the second in a series of events in our Forums on Creative Policy Perspectives initiative. The focus of Mr. Karp’s presentation is New Jersey, which is at the center of an increasingly polarized, national debate on education policy.

What does it mean for New Jersey's public schools, teachers, and the state's future? What does it mean for public education across the country?

This event is free and open to the public to attend. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Economic Crisis: Community Impact & Response

Over the past two years Dr. Wolff has increasingly crisscrossed the United States, speaking to news outlets, radio shows, universities, trade and community unions, and high schools about the impact and implications of the economic crisis that began in 2007. Dr. Wolff is the author of numerous books on economic and social issues, the latest of which, "Capitalism Hits the Fan" has seen great success as a filmed lecture. 

This lecture will be the first in a series of events in our Forums on Creative Policy Perspectives initiative. The focus of this lecture will be the impact of the financial crisis at the state and local level, and what solutions can be brought to the forefront to deal with the issues these areas currently face.
