The D.P.M. degree program is similar to medical school, including 4 years of Podiatry school after college. Most programs require a reasonable MCAT score. Some internship/shadowing hours in a reasonable medical setting is a plus for D.P.M applicants. P.M. programs are more variable in terms of pre-reqs/co-req’s than other medical degree programs so students are advised to pin-point their target schools early (upon entrance into the Pre-Medical Professions concentration), so they can plan accordingly. Required Electives: CHEM 2580 Organic Chemistry II Recommended Electives: CHEM 4270 Biochemistry (for MCAT prep) Any Pre-Medical Concentration Elective Course Option Other Recommendations: Check your target DPM Schools for Anatomy & Physiology requirements.
