As a general guideline, overtime is paid when the employee has worked in excess of their normal hours scheduled in the workweek. Titles within the CWA, IFPTE, PBA and FOP are part of a compensation plan which designates eligibility for overtime and compensatory time. Normally scheduled overtime must be approved, in advance, by the supervisor. Detailed information regarding overtime and exceptions to this general overview may be obtained from the applicable union contract, employee handbook, or by contacting Human Resources directly.
