Welcome Pioneer Families and Caregivers!  You are a critical member of the Pioneer community as you support your student through the transition into William Paterson University. Families/Guests are invited to participate in this Orientation experience designed for you!  You will hear presentations from many offices including Academic Development, Counseling, Health & Wellness, Financial Aid, Residence Life and more.  We will provide many opportunities to answer your questions and provide you with the information needed to help with your student's transition to WP.

    Note: WP Online Students are not required to attend in-person orientations. You will receive information from your academic program.

    Orientation is a full day interactive experience, starting with registration and continental breakfast at 8:30am, with the program running from 9:00am - 2:00pm.  Lunch will be provided.   Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes.

    Parent / Family tips on how to prepare for Orientation
    • Have your student check their WP email for important information regarding orientation.
    • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, keeping in mind weather conditions.
    • Be prepared to separate from your student for half of the day.  Students will engage with other students, while you will participate with other families. 
    • Bring something to take notes.
    • This is your time to ask any lingering questions.
    • It’s ok to have different emotions.
    • Remember, orientation is about your student, be in the moment and be excited with and for them!

      Student Enrollment Services (SES) is your one-stop shop for any inquiries related to billing and payments, financial aid and financial literacy, and current student records. As a trusted source of information with a goal to assist the university’s growing diverse and talented campus community, SES also offers consultations for students and families seeking help in managing the cost of attending William Paterson University. While they serve as the first administrative resource, they partner with the Offices of Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Registrar on complex issues to provide solutions.
