WP Music's Music Mentors Project is a dual-mentoring music lesson program by which serious high school music students from partner Title 1 school districts in northern New Jersey are instructed and mentored by outstanding WP Music students, who are in turn mentored by WP music faculty coordinators. In its 4th year as of the 2024-25 school year, the Music Mentors Project is free of charge for participating students, supported by a grant from the Muna and Basem Hishmeh Foundation, which since 2008 has funded outreach from the WP music department. No other department or university funds support this program. Participating students are recommended by their school music teachers and music administrators. Participating school districts include Bloomfield, Clifton, Newark, Orange, Passaic, Paterson, and Teaneck school districts.
